Since Krista and Mike live in Arlington, Steven and I were really watching the weather closely for this engagement shoot; we wanted the perfect day! We got rained out on the original weekend but two weeks later we rescheduled for a Saturday night. Again, rain was in the forecast but this time so was high wind! Our thought was that we’d have to reschedule for a different weekend, which is tricky with our calendar this time of year. Then we had a thought, the best time to photograph is the golden hour, the hour before sunset but also, the hour after sunrise. So we posed the question, who’s up for a sunrise photo shoot?!?! They agreed! We were actually pretty surprised! If that wasn’t enough they then offered for us to stay with them Saturday night so we didn’t have to drive up at 5 A.M the next morning. We both looked down at Finn wondering who could watch him; then a follow up text came in saying “and you can bring your pup too!”… WHAT!?!? Are you kidding? This is where I tell you how much we love them! Krista and Mike are friends of friends, we’ve met briefly once or twice before but never really had a conversation, and here they are inviting us to spend the night WITH furry Finn! Their friendliness and generosity blew us away. These two are as kind as it gets. We took them up on it and Saturday night was a blast!! We had an awesome evening hearing all about them, their relationship, engagement and wedding plans. It was actually a fantastic prelude to the photo shoot. We were out the door, on the way to Old Town Alexandria by 6:30am the next morning. Do you know anyone that looks this good, that early? Luckily Steven and I were behind the camera, and not in front of it! We hope to see them again really soon, this time without cameras and just as friends having a good time!
Enjoy their photos…
