Sometimes weddings are so much fun that you just want to do it again the next day! Thankfully with Ashton and Alex’s wedding that’s exactly what we got to do.
Ashton and Alex decided to split their wedding “day” into two days to savor the occasion, stay true to their vision for a small ceremony, and spend as much quality time with their family and friends as possible. The couple decided to keep the wedding traditions that were important to them and ditch the rest! The result was a unique celebration over two days that were different-as-can-be but equally memorable.
On Friday, May 12 they had a cozy, intimate, rainy ceremony at The Thacker Residence (Ashton’s grandparent’s house) in the same gazebo where Ashton’s parents and two aunts were married. The ceremony was followed by dinner and dancing.
On Saturday, May 13 – after a rainy few days – the weather cleared up for a sunshine-filled backyard celebration at Westfield Farm (Ashton’s parent’s house). The reception was a fun, laid-back occasion with food trucks, an incredible live band, and surprise fireworks!
I can’t think of a better couple or better families that I’d want to spend the weekend with! Here are a few of our favorites…
